Halloween and Other Updates

Dear NB Walhalla Elementary Families:

It is time for our fall parties/Halloween celebration for kids here at school!

We are excited to once again be invited to trick or treat at downtown businesses.  This will be on Tuesday, October 31.

Here are the basic guidelines for costumes—

  1. No blood, gore, violence, or weapons.  Costumes should be fun and school appropriate.
  2. Do not send kids to school dressed in costumes.  Costumes will be put on at 1:20 PM.
  3. Costumes should be such that children can put them on themselves without assistance.

We will go through the downtown businesses on foot starting at about 1:45.  We will also be making stops at the senior citizens center, and going through the Pembilier Nursing Center!

We plan to return to the school between 2:30 and 2:45, at which time classes will have their own activities to round out the afternoon.

Sincerely,

Nick Amb

Elementary Principal

COOKIES:  THE MUSICAL

Students grades K-3 and Mrs. Mathison are excited to put on a performance of “COOKIES: THE MUSICAL” this Friday, October 28 at 7 PM at the Walla Theatre.

STUDENT CONTACT INFORMATION

Do we have your correct and current phone number?  Weather/school alerts sent via Thrillshare rely on correct and up to date information.  Please let me know if you have not been getting any alerts.  Today’s update is going home on paper as well as on the app, so if you do not get an alert on this—something is not right in the system and I will look into it for you.

  REMINDER**************************************************

Fresh air and activity is essential for healthy child development.  We go outside for recess Pk-6 down to -15F (with windchill.)  We will not be keeping students inside because they forgot their gear.

As we get into late fall/early winter, kids need to be prepared and dressed for the weather.  Please be mindful of temps when getting kids off to school.  The jacket that was perfect for 45 degrees will not be so great at 20 degrees in most cases.

___ Cap

___ Gloves

___ Jacket  (required at temps of 30F and below—obviously can be worn at warmer temps!)

___ Snowpants (When temp drops below 0 F or when snow is present on playground)

___  Snowboots (temps below 0 F or when snow is present on the playground)

If you are having difficulty providing these items for your kids, please let me know and we can assist. I have some items here, and can very easily line families up with LOAN in Cavalier for these needs.
