On April 30, 2021, Governor Burgum rescinded the COVID-19 Emergency executive order. This decision was made due to the significant progress made mitigating the pandemic, both through implementing strategic measures and fulfilling mass vaccination throughout the state. With school board approval, the North Border Public School District ended its mask mandate for both the Pembina and Walhalla school buildings on Tuesday, May 11. Although our school’s return-to-learning plan is a living document and will continue to grow as circumstances change, we are assured that the following updates will most effectively serve our school community as we begin school in August.
Although we are optimistic that our return to school this fall will look like years’ past, we remain vigilant of the ever-changing nature of the pandemic and its effects on schools. For this reason, this plan will be updated no later than every six months -- sooner, if necessary.
Our plan can be viewed at the link below or under our website's Documents and Forms section.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress has approved a number of emergency support measures, including the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund.
